Altitude Chophouse and Brewery

Laramie, WY

Company Overview

Altitude is a small, locally owned brewery about two hours north of Denver. We are proud to have never served a filtered beer, believing that it is an unnatural way to cheat the aging process . Our locals keep the brewery bottle necked about half the year so packaging is out of reach.

Pumpkin Love, available at the GABF, is hands down Altitude's best selling beer. We will drain our first batch in a week. The base style is an ESB, but who cares--the pumpkin flesh and and pie spices is why people love Pumpkin Love.

Mexican Chili Ale, a silver medalist at the NABA, is a light, mild ale with lots of fresh chili aromas with suprisingly little heat. I chopped over 50 lbs of anehiem, serrano, pascilla and jalepeno peppers and let them soak in the beer for a month.

Expedition Porter is, I believe, my best shot at a medal this year. Well rounded and very smooth with rich chocolate nose.

Grizzly Whisperer is an Imperial Red, which I believe is a category that might have a few IPA's sneak through. Griz a a reddish malty and well hopped ale that will have you taming grizzly bears in no time.

Solar Weizen is a bavarian style wheat. After watching some German tourists freak out about how good it was, I had to give it a run at the GABF.
